Convergence 13 DJ Schedule

I've gotten confirmation for my dj schedule at Convergence 13 next week. I'll be going on at 9:00 pm on Friday downstairs at the Crystal Ballroom, and then again at midnight on Sunday in the same place. If you're at Convergence, stop by to say hi!

Short Notice Gig

I'll be spinning tomorrow (Thursday, March 14th) at the Masquerade, in Hell. I'll be going on after the NIN CD listening party for their new album, "Year Zero," and spinning until 80s night gets started, probably around 11 or so. If there are still a lot of NIN fans around at that point, I might switch off with the 80s dj for a while, too, since he doesn't have a lot of goth/industrial.

Scheduling Changes

Well, sadly, the Underworld night at the Masquerade seems to have closed down (as of, like, two hours ago). So, I guess I won't be spinning there tomorrow. However, I will be spinning at the Fetish Flea Market the first weekend in February.

Also, I've added playlists from the last Phobia and from a last-minute gig for an electronic after-hours night called Eden on the same weekend.

So! As reported in my last post, I'll be spinning tonight for Phobia at the Spring 4th Center with dj Aesthetic, plus I've just confirmed the 20th with dj 313 at the Masquerade for their Underworld night.

Also! I've recently posted a new mix, Astringent Melodies, on my mixtapes page. Since a lot of my past mixes have been very electropop and trance, I wanted to do something different and went all industrial, all the time. If you can't get enough of the vocoder, this one's for you.

I've been way behind on posting playlists, but I just added a whole mess of them to the playlists page of my site, including one from Dracula's Ball last week (which was a blast!). I seem to have lost the ones from July, somehow - there were a couple CD release parties in there (Order of the Reptile by Ego Likeness and the Where's Neil When You Need Him? compilation), but I'm not sure what happened to those set lists. Sorry about that.

New Playlist Up

I've posted the playlist from saturday over at djSpinmonkey.com. The crowd was modestly sized, but very enthusiastic and friendly. For the last little while I think was playing 80-90% requests, and I had to start turning down drink offers toward the end of the night so that I'd be able to drive home (a good problem to have!). It's always great to meet cool-seeming folks who are having a good time and really getting in to the music, and I had a blast.

I'll be spinning this Saturday for Secret Room at the Masquerade with dj 313 (aka Abe). Come on out, and I'll like, play you some funky music or something.

In more far-flung news, I've also just confirmed for Dracula's Ball in Philly on Halloween this year! That'll probably be the biggest show I've played to date, and Philly is a fairly awesome little burg by all accounts (plus I'm looking forward to the road trip with a couple friends). All in all, I'm pretty excited about it.

Upcoming Gigs

I've got three events coming up in March.

This Saturday, March 4th, I'll be spinning the Sisters of Mercy Afterparty at The Masquerade.
On Saturday the 18th, I'll be hosting the CD release party for the soundtrack to the upcoming movie, Dark Kingdom, released by Dancing Ferret Discs. This will be taking place at The Secret Room, also at The Masquerade.
On Friday, March 31st, I'll be the DJ for Jsin's Birthday Soiree at DV8 (at The Jungle). The musical format is listed on the web site as "Diablo Lounge." Awesome.

So, hope to see everybody out! I'm going to try to be a little better about keeping this updated with my gigs - you can see where I've been by looking at my playlists, but that doesn't help if you're trying to catch me somewhere in the future. (But not The Future, of course, because they closed.)
